Hello friends! I have a question, but please don't assume that it means I am getting engaged anytime soon.
Does anyone have any information on getting conflict-free diamonds? Do you know of any retailers that deal with such diamonds? Did you know I'm a Kanye West fan?
We looked into this when we got engaged, and it was ridiculous how little information the jewelry stores would give us. We asked if their diamonds were conflict free and some would say yes, and when we'd ask for proof they'd say they didn't have any. Others told us all diamonds are just put together so there is no way to know where they come from. But they were all insistent their diamonds were fine and seemed to care very little about our concern. Getting Canadian diamonds is one option, however they are more expensive and there is still the environmental factor. What we settled on is a simulated diamond. It looks exactly like a diamond, and only jewelers can tell the difference. And they are cheaper.
Adam wanted me to amend my comment. They are called synthetic diamonds, and the price is artificially inflated by the diamond companies to discourage people from buying them.
I dont know a lot about this, but a lot of diamonds now a days are laser inscribed. I have no idea whether or not that number helps determine where it comes from, or whether its just like a serial number.
What do I have? I have no idea. Only J-Ms great grandparents know.
Hey here are the pubilc swim times...what do you think: Friday: 9 a.m. - 7:30 pm Saturday: noon - 10 p.m.
We could do the zoo lights friday night at like 6:30 pm till we are done at like 8:30/9:00 when I get there then we could go then take Saturday afternoon/evening we can swim??
Or should we do the zoo lights Saturday?? And No swimming...??? Let Me know!
I found out at Jared that they have 2 types of diamonds with which you can get a complete history (even to which mine it came from), but I am a little skeptical, especially considering the fact that I'm not sure which regions are conflict-free. Is there an official list somewhere?
